Axel Willner’s production as The Field began in 2005, with a demo tape submitted to Cologne-based Kompakt Records who subsequently signed him to release three 12” singles and a follow-up album, his debut ‘From Here We Go Sublime’. Willner has stayed at the label ever since and last year released his third LP ‘Looping State Of Mind’, a stunning collection of his trademark loop-driven techno with an added energy and muscle perfectly suited to his new live show, with a two-member backing group.

The Field’s productions are almost cinematic in their slow multi-layered progressions, with every track on his most recent LP extending beyond 7 minutes and all conjuring a unique atmosphere as they develop and grow. Live, this hair-raising concoction becomes extra evocative, as deep rumbling bass and sharp melodies work together in tandem. In a festival setting, it stands to be something to truly behold.
